Project SPOTLIGHT 2021

The impact of the pandemic in the past two years has forced us to reimagine what community and interpersonal connections truly mean. While many of us have been able to adapt and pivot to a new normal, the desire for making connections and forming communities has not faded.

This year with Project SPOTLIGHT, we are reimagining the different ways communities reconnect, gather and form. We are producing a mini documentary series on 3 community organizations, 105 Gibson Centre, Good Foot Delivery, and Not Far from the Tree, to shine a spotlight on each group's unique approach to community connection. We will premiere this series across social media platforms with the goal of promoting these 3 groups to a wider audience through the power of storytelling.

This year's beneficiaries:

105 Gibson Centre

A local community centre, 105 Gibson Centre is devoted to bringing positive change by offering educational and recreational facilities and programs, older adult and youth services, a food bank, and physical and mental health services among much more.

Good Foot Delivery

A charity and social enterprise, Good Foot Delivery provides meaningful employment for the neuro-diverse community through a professional courier service delivered via public transit and on foot.

Not Far from the Tree

A fruit picking and sharing project, Not Far from the Tree works to connect generous tree registrants with excess fruit to volunteers in their community who are willing to pick and share it.
